SSLC (Secondary Course)
Individuals who are at least 14 years old are eligible to apply. There are no restrictions on age for this course.

The curriculum consists of subjects, including multiple languages. Each student is allowed to choose 5 subjects, with 2 languages being mandatory and the other 3 subjects being optional.
The exams for these three subjects can be taken in either English or Malayalam.
Students who successfully finish this course are qualified to seek employment in both state and central government positions.
Plus Two (Senior Secondary Course)
This program is intended for individuals who have passed SSLC and are at least 17 years old.

The subjects of physics, chemistry, biology, home science, and computer science, require both theoretical and practical examinations.
In Plus Two examination students will have the option to choose two languages. With the exception of science subjects, the main exam can be taken in either Malayalam or English.
Upon successful completion of the additional two courses, students are eligible for engineering, medical, IT, and other professional courses.

Class Duration Details
— We have 2 batches for the NIOS class: the April and October batches.
— The classes for the April batch start on April 1st; the exam is in April, and the results will be out on June 15.
— The classes for the October batch start on August 15; the exam will be in October, and the result will be out on January 15.
Transfer of credit (TOC)
NIOS allows the seamless continuation of education by agreeing to students’ transfer credits earned from other recognized boards or institutions. The best thing about the NIOS Board’s Secondary and Senior Secondary Course Exams is that failed students, whether in the SSLC or Plus Two standard, do not have to retake every subject. The National Institute of Open Schooling provides a Transfer of Credit (TOC) service for up to 2 subjects that candidates have passed on their main board exams. Students only need to appear for exams on the topics they failed. On the NIOS Board Certificate, the marks from the passed subjects are transferred. This allows students to continue their education as soon as possible.
Change of Subject / Additional Subject
Over the course of five years, a student is allowed to switch one or more subjects, as long as the total number of subjects does not exceed seven. However, this change can only be made within four years of your registration in order to ensure that you can take public examinations within the allotted admission period.
No changes or additions to subjects will be permitted for the first examination. Additionally, subjects that have already been passed by a student cannot be changed.
